Reaching Across Generations / Friday, September 24
These four speakers will help us Understand the Different Generations by learning their characteristics, similarities and differences between each generation and ideas on events to draw them together.
Pat Davis–The Silent Generation
Pat served on the Women’s Ministry Board at Scottsdale Bible Church as Chairman for three years. During that time she birthed LIFT (Leaders in Fellowship Together). Pat served as Director of LIFT for fourteen years. She continues to serve on the LIFT Board as an emeritus. Pat was one of the contributing authors in a Focus on the Family book, Leading Women to the Heart of God. Pat’s greatest joy is being Mom to four grown children and Grandma to 12 grandchildren. Pat’s husband, Tom, journeyed home to heaven in 2016. They were married 57 years.
Jill Rhodes–Baby Boomers
When she is not serving her family, Jill’s greatest love is exploring the deep riches of God’s Word. Over the last 35 years, she has shared the heart of God’s Word with women around the world through writing, teaching, and mentoring the next generations. The Lord has used her Bible studies to encourage women in over 75 nations. Jill and her husband, David, partner together in Grace & Glory Ministries and Jill serves as Women’s Minister at Wellspring Church.
Laurie Davies–Generation X
A journalist and marketer-turned-ministry leader, Laurie Davies has been writing since her advanced composition teacher told her in 1989 that she broke too many rules. Laurie worked as a journalist and marketing professional for 25 years before leaping into vocational ministry as the Women’s Ministry Director at Grace Community Church. She recently stepped away from that position to focus on writing her first book. Laurie helps women recapture faith, freedom and the lost art of fun–and she writes about all three at lauriedavies.life. She lives in Mesa with her husband Greg and her son Morgan, who is the best story she’s ever written.
Courtney Lowman is a wife, mom, speaker and podcast host. Courtney’s time as a Bible study teacher, a missionary, and discipler of young women has convinced her that women have an absolute need for discipleship and mentorship. Courtney created The Journey of Ruth Podcast with the desire to provide Godly counsel and share conversations with those who have imparted wisdom upon her. The podcast has grown to reach a global audience. Her desire is to empower women to search the scriptures on their own, seek out discipleship in Christian Community, and grow in their understanding of Jesus.
Cultivating a New Generation of Leaders
Ali Gentry founded a monthly women’s event in Phoenix called ARISE. It is a once-a-month event for women across all ages, churches and backgrounds to come together, connect, worship, and grow in the faith! Her heart is for unity within the Church and hopes that this event is one step in the direction of building bridges between ages, denominations, and races.
How do we communicate to the next generation of young women that they are needed and valued? Ali has a love for all generations and will give strategic steps and creative ways to Cultivate the Next Generation of Leaders.
Ali is the Women’s Ministry Director at Renovation Church in Phoenix, a speaker, founder of ARISE, radio show host and an avid adventurist. Her passion is to see people live fully into the gifts & graces God created them with to serve the church and the world!
